Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW)

This organization is known as St. Joseph’s Council of Catholic Women and affiliated with the Wisconsin Rapids Deanery (DeCCW), LaCrosse Diocesan Council  (LDCCW), and the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW).

Objectives:
To serve as a medium through which the Catholic women of this parish may speak and act as a unit on all matters of the parish and the monthly PCCW meetings.

To further the spiritual and material undertakings which may be recommended by our spiritual advisor and our executive board.

The executive board consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.  There is also an appointed Sunshine Lady who sends cards to parish members who are ill, or lost a family member, etc.

Membership:
All women of this parish who are 18 years of age and older are members of the PCCW.
Membership is automatic upon registration in the parish. There are no fees or dues.

General Information:
Meetings are on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the parish center.  All ladies of the parish are encouraged to attend in order to become more informed as to parish needs, to resolve issues, to share ideas and for fellowship to get to know each other better.

The PCCW has 4 major events each year:
Salad luncheon 2^nd Thursday of May
Bake sale Labor Day Weekend
Hunters dinner, opening Saturday of deer hunting
Christmas Treats and Treasures sale held on the 2^nd Saturday of December

All ladies of the parish are encouraged to participate in any way they are able.

The PCCW also has 8 circle lists.  Ladies of the parish are placed on these lists and are contacted by the circle chair to help with baking for the above functions as needed.  This will only occur 3-4 times a year.  Cash donations can be made if unable to donate needed items.  It is very helpful for members to keep their phone numbers up to date so the circle chairs are able to reach you as needed.

We also have a Rosary List.  We will lead the rosary for our deceased female parishioners.  These take place at the funeral home or church.  If you wish to be on this list, please contact the PCCW present.

There is a Deanery dinner 2 times a year.  All members are invited to attend.  This enables us to see other parishes and meet other ladies.

The money raised by the group is used for altar supplies, donations to charities of PCCW choice, Food Pantry, gifts for first communicants and confirmants, Father’s Day gifts, yarn for handcrafters project, and improvements for parish center or the church.
